Q: Do I have to take my turtle indoors during winter?
A: Depends on the species. If the type of turtle you have is native to climates that have cold winters, then no. However your pond must be built correctly to successfully keep turtles or any other life such as fish in your pond over the winter. Your pond will have to be made to accommodate your new pet.

Q: Will a turtles claws rip my pond liner?
A: Surprisingly it's very unlikely. Many pond owners keep turtles and worry about this very thing. But it's rare that it happens. The rubber liners are pretty resilient and turtles usually don't go digging in your pond. If you don't provide an easy place for them to climb out of the water then it is very possible they will grab the liner to try to escape. If you plan to keep turtles your pond should be made with that in mind.
